First weekend of summer.....

Memorial weekend always signals the beginning of summer for me.  With the weather we've been having, it looks to be a great weekend.  First of all, I want to tell you about 2 great garage sales.  My daughter Allison is having a gigantic one at her new house at 2266 E. Sunset Dr. starting Fri. morning at 8:00 & I swear I haven't been over to buy everything.  I told her that I would wait because I really want her to have a great sale.  They've worked so hard and they want to buy a new shed.  So check it out.  The other sale is at my friend Annie's house, 909 E. Linwood.  I couldn't buy all of her treasures because I don't have that much room or money.  Her's will start on Sat. morning at 7:00.  Hope you can check them out.

My sisters & I took off this morning to go do our duty at the cemetery.  It always meant so much to our mother that she decorate the graves of those she loved.  She thought when visitors came to the cemetery that they would know how much our dad & sister were loved by the flowers on their grave.  We never quite understood her feelings but we try to do that because it meant so much to her.  So that was our task today.  By the way, the little town near the cemetery is called Hogeye.  We stopped here and had fried chicken for lunch.

We always stop at a little nursery in Fair Grove for our flowers.  They've been there for years and have beautiful flowers and vegetables.  We have for a couple of years purchased bread from a new little bakery that sets up at our farmer's mkt. so we decided to check it our while in Fair Grove.  He's set up in the back of a little restaurant and the aroma is amazing.  These are his cinnamon rolls -- they're a little messy for the car.

What a cute place he has.  He seems to love what he does.  He told us he started making bread when his wife became allergic to wheat.  What a man!!!
