Our evening event on Thursday night was a huge success. It was good to see old friends that had not been in the shop for awhile but lots of our loyal regulars who are always there to support us. We are so grateful for our great customers (most are our friends now).
Don't you love this frog. It's huge and is a great water feature or just used for a lawn ornament. It sold the first night.
We always love that Debra shows up to take pictures.
Thanks, again, Debra for always supporting us.
I found 2 of these small wingbacks and since they were really dirty, decided to have them reupholstered. They turned out so wonderful that they're hard to give up. The pillow fabric is my new favorite fabric. I plan to use it in my house someplace, if I can still find it.
Everyone brought in new merchandise and if I can get my pictures transferred from my phone to my computer, I'll post some of those in the next few days.
One more picture to post.....my wonderful red bench. I love the way the worn red looks.
Hope everyone has a wonderful week.

My porch.......
I've worked so hard this week trying to get my porch ready for summer. This spring has been very messy. With the double-whammy of excessive pollen and those helicopters that come off the trees, it's been hard to enjoy the porch. Some of the screen on the door needed to be replaced so I decided to take the door off, paint it black & do a curtain effect on the bottom with burlap. What do you think?
The bent willow chair above is one of a pair and there's also a table. A few years ago Ralph Lauren white-washed a couple of these and put cushions in them. I'm seriously considering trying this. There's so much wood on the porch that I think it might brighten it a bit.
This is a cart that I keep on my backporch & use for a potting table, buffet & various other things. It now has been painted black also. My friend Brenda has been staying here lately while her new house is being remodeled and she has used so much black in her house that it has totally changed my opinion of black. She even stained some of her floors black. All of her doors are black and her kitchen and bathroom cabinets. It really looks great. I'll take pictures when she gets moved in.
I've told myself that this is going to be the summer of my content. I've only read one book since Mike died and I use to read continually. I'm going to try my best to get that back. It's impossible to figure out why it is that I can't concentrate but I can't & I miss reading. My porch is almost finished and that's my favorite spot -- I intend to take advantage of it. We'll see what happens.
Have a great weekend.

Spring break with spring weather.....
The kids all have spring break this week so we were off to the park but first we had to stop by the Springfield Art Museum to see the all-school art show. One of Stella's pieces had been chosen to be on display. She loves art.
Have a great day. Hope your weather is as nice as ours.

Summer shower

Not the rain kind but the "gonna be a wedding" kind. We had one for our great niece who's getting married in a couple of weeks. My sister Judy's house is perfect for entertaining and she uses it for that quite often. We always say at Leola's that Judy is our best customer (she's also one of the owners) & you'll be able to see in the pictures what a great eye she has. She's also a great cook. It was a beautiful summer day & everything is so green with all the rain we've had.
