The summer ritual -- Bible school....

My memories of bible school in the summer are wonderful memories. It was different back then. If I remember correctly, we went for 2 weeks and made lots of ceramic things like ash trays. Now they learn fun songs and they dance and whoop and holler and get all reved up but they have such a good time. Also, they only go for 4 days and have a big party on Thurs. night. They talk about God and learn how important he is in their lives. It's amazing to me how much my grandchildren already know about God and the Bible. They don't memorize verses -- they learn what the verses mean.

Here are best friends, Sage and Quenton. Dinner was one of their favorite -- hotdogs & Andy's frozen yogurt for dessert. They've gone to church together since they were both babies. Now their Mom's both teach in the preschool at Kingsway.
Phoebe, enjoying her Andy's.
Dad had to give Stella a ride. She was pooped!

It's another important part of summer that's behind us now. Seems we're getting closer & closer to fall. Where does the time go!!!!

Any great garage sale finds? I didn't even leave the house. I was a bum!

You made ash trays in bible school? Seriously? And no surgeon general's warning I suppose. My goodness, how times have changed! Lucy, Ricky, Fred and Ethel could smoke on television, but had to keep at least one foot on the floor at all times for the bedroom scenes. Not to mention they had twin beds. Crazy. But I digress...

Cute grandkids! Love the pictures!

"They don't memorize verses -- they learn what the verses mean." I could never memorize verses, or songs. But, I could sure as heck tell you what the verses and songs meant. I'm glad the kids still go and it looks like a good time was had by all! ~Mindy

I'll never forget when my parents made me go to bible school while I was in Florida staying with my Grandparents...I was terrified...which added to the madness of being a Baptist and why at age 16 I never went back to church, the hell-fire and damnation of it all was horrific to me as a child.

My spirituality has nothing to do with 'the church', however, I know many are comforted by it's meaning, but I'd rather sit in a field of grass, than a stuffy church and meet my creator there in all it's glory and perfection, surrounded by the beauty of the creation, one on one with my being.

Sunday school scared me, back in the day...I'm glad it has changed.

Have a wonderful weekend friend!

Hey Girlie!
I hate to give a bad report on any show, but honestly, I simply could not find much... and that's hard for me to do...I'm a pretty good huntress, and have been lovingly called a 'human vaccume'. I don't know what you are searching for, but I can always find treasures at Gold Rush. I love old, old things... Condition means nothing to me, and I feel that things that are worn and mended have enjoyed a colorful life, I tend to gravitate towards people, that have enjoyed life in the same fashion...Something or someone who hasn't experienced life, and has been put on the shelf, well, they seem a little boring to me. If you give me an idea of the treasures you seek, I'll point you in the right direction!

Yeah, you never know about us...we decided that we just couldn't afford both with winter so close at hand, but we're scouting for the perfect person to take over the lil' shop...and yes I'm pooped and need to retread my sandals, but it will be worth it to have an upstairs, 3 big rooms downstairs, an outhouse and a huge yard with a picket fence and a front porch with a swing...who could resist this move!!!

We want to play music from the 20-30's, May West, Annette Hanshaw and Bessie Smith...the town is full of vintage car collectors, which we want to pull into events we are planning. Last night our neighbor was playing 40's dance music, it was awesome to sit on our porch and listen to it at dusk...we needed the break, didn't get home till midnight...ouch...I sat with my feet up today...ha...

Take care friend!
