Jim gave Sage a ride on the scooter to the barn to get the motorized vehicle so they could ride down by the bluffs. Don't worry that they're not wearing helmets -- Jim's driving about 5 mph & they didn't go very far.
Aren't these bluffs amazing? I'm so grateful that the Atteberrys' own this land because they'll always protect it & see that it's not developed.
If you look real close, you can see the caves in the bluffs.
Here are Sage & Jim coming down the path. Jim & Jane have just had their 1st g'child born. What a place for a grandchild to grow up. This is one lucky boy to have these wonderful people for g'parents. By the way, his name is Jack. Sage is preparing Jim for what's ahead.
We've had lots of rain lately and the James River has flooded a couple times. This deer skin was washed up and is stuck to this tree. How many chances do you get to take a picture like this?
Many years ago there was a cabin on this property but long ago disappeared in the flood waters. The only thing that survived is the fireplace. They still use it when they have get-togethers & it's cool. Think I'll come down & hang a wreath on it before Christmas. Speaking of Christmas, would this not be a perfect place for a Christmas portrait?

Beautiful pics, it looked like a peaceful and fun day!! I love those days! Hugs, Janna
what a beautiful day to take such gorgeous pics. My kids grew up on land like this(our farm is right on the Mississippi) and I think they always thought that was special. They miss it now as they both live in cities, away from the farm...
Lovely! We stopped last weekend in Arkansas and had cake on a gravel bar by the Buffalo River. The bluffs are just so gorgeous! It's hard to beat the Ozarks in the fall...

Hey Jan,
Flyin' by the seat of my pants, I can do... It's getting my head together, to get my butt off the ground, that I was having problems with...Too much coming at me from every direction, for too long... I always have to be knocked off my pegs, before I ask for help... If I would just ask a little sooner, or hand it over, to the Guy upstairs, life would be so easy...
I'm getting better at it... bruised, but better...
Thanks for the comment!

Hi Jan, these photos of Jane's river property are just so gorgeous, and what a wonderful way to spend a beautiful fall day! You and Sage will always have great memories of your special time together!
Can't wait to see what you all are cooking up for the Open House! I know it will be wonderful!

Hi Jan, I can't believe it's been awhile since I've visited your blog. I LOVE the pictures and have just finished reading all your October posts.
When I was 13 my family and I visited somewhere in Iowa that had cobblestone streets and we had a rustic German dinner. Is that in the Amana colonies? My brother and I had a blast in Iowa! We stayed with my mom's friend who lived in Cedar Rapids.

Bonnie, I'll bet it was in the Amana's because it's very close to Cedar Rapids. It's also very German. We love Iowa. Thanks for visiting. Jan
I always cherished the times I spent with my grandson at that age, he was my lil' pirate, my pioneer, my bug and frog hunter and my egg collecter...enjoy those times granny, they're the best...he's 21 now and all he wants to do with granny is go out to eat...but I love that too, it's worth every second!!!
Love the Iowa shots...Lorie and I are getting estimates on a barn for the 'Pink Chateau', that way I'll have a permanent place for all my friends to come and visit and plenty of room for flea markets on the 6 acres...I got energy to burn...right...or I'm just tetched in the head...see ya sister...s
PS...the pics are fabulous, what a wonderful setting for a Christmas wreath and a photo shoot!
Jan,
I enjoyed traveling with you and Sage on this outdoor journey ~ appears it was a great adventure! Sage looks so grown up. I am glad you two got to make this memory.
Love and Blessings!
