The snow is gone......

This has been a busy week but very productive.  Brother-in-law Mike has been here finishing up some things in the house and helping the kids get their house ready to sell.  I now have nice wide baseboards around my new wood floors.  What a difference it makes to just take those narrow baseboards off & add the wider ones.

The snow has finally melted and hopefully, the mud will start to dry.  Isn't it funny how you can have one big snow & cold spell and when it's over, it feels like spring is here.  The birds are even chirping.  Something tells me, we still have a little winter ahead of us but it's sure nice to have a little break to get the car washed and sweep out some of the dirt from the garage.  I also need to get some things ready for Leola's.

Stella is with me today and I was thinking how lucky we are to be in this warm safe home.  I've thought so much about all the people in Haiti who have nothing left and have all lost people they love.  Little kids who have lost their parents and parents who have lost their children or can't find clean water for them to drink or food for them.  This is just such an opportunity for us to show what kind of people we are in the U.S. & make a difference with our love and caring.  We have a wonderful organization in Springfield called Convoy of Hope that was already in Haiti serving 7,000 free meals a day to children so my donation will go to them.  We all need to help.

Hope you all have a wonderful, safe weekend.

Convoy of Hope gets our donation also. They are amazing at what they can accomplish! And all the mud here, yuk, yuk, makes me really glad I don't have a dog. Eeeeewww...the tracks on the floors!
Have a great weekend, Jan!

Can't wait to see new pictures of your wood floors with the wide baseboards. How warm and cozy a pretty area rug will look in your room.
Amen, Sister, to helping the people of Haiti as much as we can. We are so blessed, even in hard times, that we live in this rich country. We all can do our part.
I'm missing you, dear Jan. It's raining like crazy here in So. Cal.
