Over the river and thru the woods......

As part of my Christmas decorating therapy, I went to my friend Jane's house to steal get inspired by her ideas.  The weather was perfect -- extremely cold with some flurries in the air.  I'm thinkin' a little snow might help me get in the mood.

Loved seeing these horses and turkeys sharing the same field.  The river runs right behind the horses.
Jane's house is wonderful anytime but never more then at holiday time.  I think she wins the contest when it comes to having the most vintage Christmas but her house is large enough that she can use everything.   This year she's using lots of "nature's decor".  Fresh greenery, pine cones, bird nests and incorporating the views out all of her huge windows.  It's truly amazing!  It's better then any magazine.  Then when she gets fires going in her huge stone fireplaces, you just want to put your feet up and stay a spell.

This is my favorite decoration.....
How different Christmas becomes when you see it through the eyes of grandchildren.

Now I'll share some shots of her house.

Hope you enjoyed the visit.  I'm thinking that tomorrow will be the day I start.  Wish me luck!

What a magnificent home, I would certainly feel right at home there, such a cozy Christmasy feel...and that lil' munchkin is to die for, lots of cheek kisses I bet!

Your fireplace looks wonderful, bet you're glad it's finished, can't wait to see it decorated for the holiday soon to come.
