These were some of the new shirts and colors that Pam brought in. We all love her shirts and apparently, quite a few of our customers do too. Some come in often to add to their collection. I love these jacket sweatshirts. Pam does the best job of dressing her mannequins and decorating her space. She's one talented gal.

Pam's wonderful designs......
We've had an incredible weekend at Leola's. It seems everyone is ready for fall and it didn't hurt that the weather was beautiful. Everyone around seemed to be having an open house or a festival of some kind. Thankfully, lots of them came to check out the shop.

You might not be able to tell from this picture but she made necklaces out of old ties and keys.

Fall Open House at Leola's -- Sept. ll, 12, & 13
We've worked so hard this week on the shop. Everything has been moved and redone. I'm getting too old for this. I had lots of furniture this time to take & just loading & unloading about kills me. But the shop looks amazing. Thought I'd post some pictures to pique your interest.
This is the coolest pumpkin. It's made out of barbed wire.

Brenda does beautiful florals. This would be so cool on a door.

Pam was still working on her area so didn't get any good pictures of her jackets and shirts but I will tomorrow. She had some wonderful colors. If you've never tried her shirts, you should. The nicest thing about them is that they actually fit women. I've loved mine and they've been worn & washed lots of times.

A Leola's get-together -- Pam's birthday
Last week we celebrated Pam's birthday with a little party at my house. Brenda made her chicken salad and egg salad that she used to make for her tearoom "The Lodge". She had the tearoom several years ago in a big flea market in Ozark and it was wonderful -- especially her food. She made the edible bowls out of refrigerator biscuits that she stretched over small pyrex bowls and baked in the oven. It was a great idea and totally edible. I fixed bruschetta with tomatoes I bought at farmer's mkt. and my very own basil and garlic. I purchase asiago cheese bread from Panera (they make their own bread) and grill it in the oven with olive oil, garlic and parmesan cheese. Then top it with my tomato, basil, garlic and olive oil mixture -- nothing better. We added some delicious watermelon and what a feast! The cupcakes are Judy's and she served them on a cupcake holder she purchased in Door Co.
Brenda fixed a wine drink. She cut up fresh peaches, added some sugar and let it set for about an hour. You drink the wine then serve the peaches for dessert. Yummy!!!!
So happy birthday to Pam. Our next birthday will be Brenda's in July. Hope everyone has a great week and finds some reason to celebrate. I'm celebrating the fact that it's cooler and dryer in Missouri and Linda's bringing her tiller over to help in my garden. I took the day off from Leola's and plan to get caught up on a few things.

Pam's wonderful creations
The frost is nearly on the pumpkin in Missouri -- 42 degrees this morning. I love fall but dread what winter could bring after the last two. The Farmers Almanac says it's to be colder & snowier in Missouri but not sure how that works since southern Mo. is so different, weather -wise, from northern Mo. Guess we'll just wait & see.
Oh, well, guess if we can make it through the economic woes & the election, we can surely make it through winter. Don't you long for the days that all we heard on the news was about Britney? Although, now that I'm remembering it, I think there was a war going on then. Somehow that gets lost in the shuffle. Bet there are lots of Moms, Dads, wives, husbands, sons, daughters, G'mas & G'pas & other family members & friends that don't forget the war. Is it just me or do others feel slightly overwhelmed with life right now?
Thought you might like to see some of the new things we have at Leola's. We've moved things around & made some great changes. Here are some of Pam's t-shirt & sweatshirt creations. We all love them because they're made for a woman's body. We can layer them & not feel all stuffed. In the picture my sister Jean is wearing a smaller size to fit her short frame. I like the bigger sizes because they're longer (& I'm a little larger then my little sister Jean). My next purchase will be the charcoal grey sweatshirt & an orange t-shirt to wear over or under a white blouse. O-k! There's my fall wardrobe! How easy was that!!!!
