Visiting my favorite greenhouse......

My favorite greenhouse to visit is Steinert's.  It is amazing!  I love the lady who owns it because she reminds me of me.  She has owned this greenhouse for many years and runs it by herself with a small staff of mostly women that I recognize year after year.  It's so comforting to me to have something stay the same -- in a world that changes way too fast.

I had my second realtor come today and thinking I'll go with him.  He's very positive but doesn't pull any punches.  The market is down but he says houses are selling.  You may not get what you want but when you look for one to buy, maybe you can get a better buy on it.  It is what it is and no amount of fixing-up will make this more then a 3-bedroom house with 2 baths & lots of steps (not to mention the HUD house sitting empty next door).  If there's to be a change in my life, I'm the one to make it so this will be my first step.  Wish me luck & you might mention me in a prayer or 2 although I'm thinkin' God must be pretty busy these days taking care of more important issues.

Hope you have a great weekend.  It's so hot here that I'm having to water everyday.  It's crazy!

Another busy weekend!

Phoebe helped me make gooey butter cupcakes for a shower Allison was giving for her friend Morgan. The only problem was that Phoebe had little self-control when it came to keeping her fingers out of the dough. She's admiring her handiwork.
This is a mixture of plants that I put in my urn at the front of my house. I've used this same combination for about 3 years now since it works so well.
This is a hosta that I brought from my 95-year-old Aunt Lillian's house in Kansas City probably 8 years ago. It gets bigger every year with such beautiful blooms that come on late in the summer.
