Judy's birthday.....

Today is sister Judy's birthday and, of course, it called for lunch out.  We went to a great local restaurant called Tea Bar and Bytes and as usual had an amazing lunch.

Here we are having lunch.  We had to celebrate with one of their coconut cupcakes (I swear they taste just like Barefoot Contessa's).  It's not everyday that we can take the time to have lunch together and I miss that.  Life just seems to get in the way.  Weren't we suppose to have all this time to do what we wanted!!!  We talked today about all the places we want to visit (Charleston, Savannah, the wine country, Italy, Ireland, & of course, Iowa).  You have to have been with us on a trip to Iowa to fully understand our affection for Iowa.  Maybe we'll just jump in Mary's motor home (she has custody due to a recent divorce) & take off.  Sometimes we'd like to but I'm kind of partial to a nice motel room and restaurant food as are most of my sisters.

Actually, we usually jump in Jean's big ole suv and take off.  We were born with the ability to pack more "stuff" in the back of a vehicle then possibly anyone else we know.  It's just in our genes.  We've come home from Texas and Iowa with so much "stuff" that we packed all of our individual cars full after we arrived home.  We just opened up the back of Jean's car and it all popped out.  As a matter of fact, I don't remember ever breaking anything.

I don't know what I'd do without my sisters & sister-in-law.  Did I mention that sister-in-law Kay had hip replacement surgery 3 wks. ago and she's already back at the workout center.  She's an amazing little-bit of a woman that is one of the toughest women I know.  She also takes such good care of our brother Bud.  I've been surrounded all of my life by amazing, strong women.  Don't know what I'd to without them but I digress...

One of the strongest of the bunch is Judy.  She and I  were very close in age and have always been extremely close.  I wish her the very best birthday -- she deserves it.
