My favorite garden lunch & afternoon visitors....

This is my favorite summertime lunch and most of it comes from my garden.  The greens are arugula, spinach and a green leaf lettuce.  Then I add avocados, pears, walnuts, Gorgonzola cheese and squeeze on a little lemon juice with olive oil.  If I have a roasted chicken then I like that too.  I never use bottled dressings anymore.  Once you start making your own, you can't go back to bottled.  Have you ever looked at the preservatives, sodium & sugar in them?  Besides that, homemade just tastes better.

The munchkins are here visiting this afternoon.  So far they've eaten 2 containers of yogurt, 1 tube of Hiho's, 3 small bags of Golden Grahams & a banana.  For some reason they can't get enough to eat when they come to G'ma's.

The food you are making from your garden fare sounds fabulous! That strawberry cake looked really good too. I was just catching up on many of your past posts. So many wonderful things happening in your corner of the world. Love those pillows. Best wishes to you and yours, Tammy

Thanks for stopping by my steaming corner of the world. We could literally cook a meal on the sidewalk. :/ Looked back and found your sweet little baby doves. You know, I didn't realize there was a difference between doves and pigeons. And I think most folks think doves are white. So I did a little research and learned something new yesterday -- thanks to lovely blogger friends like you who gave my little birdie his correct name. :) Best wishes, Tammy
