Another busy week......

It's been a busy week as usual.  The house has shown now 5 times but haven't heard back from anyone.  My new plan is to just go on with my life and quit being so fixated on the sale of the house.  The garden is looking terrific.  As a matter of fact, I harvested lavender this week.  Love the smell of lavender.

I've also painted this table.  It's one I inherited from my in-laws and have loved it but it never quite fit in anyplace.  Well, look at what a little chalk paint can do.  It now brightens up a corner in my bedroom.

The whole time I was painting this table, I could hear my father-in-law saying "you're painting that wood".  What is it with men that they think there's some kind of a law against painting wood.  What's really funny is that he stripped every piece of furniture he ever bought which took a lot of the value from them anyway and it's not like we have any really valuable pieces -- just to us.

Better get busy finishing up some things for Leola's.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Love the long skinny legs on that table. The chalk paint looks awesome...I have GOT to get some of that a try it; I'm just dying to. I have a china cabinet that I want to paint, but I, too, keep hearing my mother's shocked voice saying "painting my beautiful china cabinet...oh my". She's been gone 15 years so I should just go ahead and do it, right? LOl! Hope you have a happy summer weekend!

Fresh lavender! Lucky you! "For everything there is a season." When you lease expect it, the house will sell so no need to worry. One of my favorite quotations is "Worry is like a rocking chair. It gives you something to do but gets you nowhere." I keep hearing about chalkboard paint. Wonder if True Value carries it here? Probably not. I never understand why folks carry on about painting wood or brick. The table looks great and you probably love it even more now. That's all that matters. Have a great weekend. Tammy

I love that table! I have a dining room table I would love to do that to. I've never heard of chalk paint. Will have to look that up. Do you have to strip the table first? It's absolutely beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

Lori - the nice thing about chalk paint is that you can put it on anything. Check on my blogs I follow & read Miss Mustard Seed. She has several tutorials on chalk paint. Good luck!

Gorgeous table. I'm really thinking about ordering some of that chalk paint! Seems like such an amazing media.

Your house will sell. It's gorgeous. Things are just taking longer right now!
