Zippety doo dah, zippety a......

Such a beautiful day on my back porch.  Having a difficult time getting to work.  It's cool and leaves are falling like crazy.  Love mornings like this and you have to take advantage of them.....they don't last long.

Our trip to Wisconsin couldn't have been better (unless we'd had a truck to haul more).  The weather was perfect -- cool and crisp.  We had one rainy, drizzly day but even that was pleasant.  We just shopped in the drizzle.  We had the fireplace on anytime we were in the house and they had several cozy throws so we could set outside with our coffee and look at Lake Michigan (actually Green Bay).

It's just the most beautiful place and all we had on the agenda was resting, sleeping, eating, sightseeing, antiquing, and more eating.  We stocked our frig so we could eat in when we wanted but we certainly took advantage of the local eateries.....no franchises there!

Mary fixed hot dogs on the grill.....

This was down the street from our house.....downtown Fish Creek....

A park in Egg Harbor.  It also has one of our favorite eateries.....

There are so many hydrangeas and no one is picking them.....
Mary.....standing on the dock of the bay watching the tide roll away.....
 Me, too.....
This is one of many lighthouses on the peninsula.  This one is at Peninsula State Park....
Judy standing in front of the lighthouse....

It was just a wonderful trip and think we all feel revived and renewed (and I needed it).  Managed to find some wonderful things for Leola's Christmas Open House.  Now I have to mark it all and come up with a decorating plan.  Better get busy!

Have a wonderful week!

This is always a crazy, busy time of the year for me and this one looks to be no different.  My house is still on the market, but I'm really trying to go on with my life and enjoy the fact that I have a cozy, warm home.  It will sell when it sells!

This was a cool, foggy, fallish morning in the Ozark.  Our area is inundated with these horrible worms that look like bagworms.  They're all over our trees and this is what mine looked life this morning with the dew hanging on them....

They looked like Halloween decorations.  We need a hard freeze to get rid of them.

My basket at my front door stuffed with my sweet annie.....

This weekend was the twice-yearly antique sale in Lebanon.  Courtney and Sherry sell the best primitives around on Sherry and her family's farm outside of Lebanon.  It's a beautiful farm and the perfect spot for a fall sale.  Judy and I both came home with some great pieces.

My sisters and I are headed to Door County, WI, next week.  We love it there and especially this time of year.  This is a picture from last year and we're staying in Fish Creek again.  It's so nice sometimes to take a vacation to a familiar spot where you can just relax and that's what we intend to do.

I'll take lots of pictures and share them when I get home.  See you in October.

A quiet, rainy day.......

It's raining in my world today and I'm so grateful.  City Utilities has been replacing gas lines in our neighborhood (thank you) for the last few weeks and it's left our yards with no grass and only this fine, dry dirt that just blows around.  I've tried to water but it's been hot so it doesn't last long.  I'm certain that all those with allergies are having a terrible time.  My windows have been open so needless to say, I need to dust.

Judy, Jean, and I are taking off on Sunday and headed to Door County, Wisconsin, for a very relaxing few days.  We've been there several times and love it, especially in the fall.....

We're staying in Fish Creek and no, there won't be snow on the ground but we love this little grocery store which is right around the corner from our cottage.  It's fun to run in here and pick up a sandwich and a bottle of wine for dinner.  It's such a quaint, pretty little village.

It's just a beautiful area in the on Lake Michigan that makes you feel like you're on Cape Cod....

I'm pulling out the flannel shirts and sweaters since the temps are to be in the 50's.  May even take my Uggs!

I love taking projects to work on.  I've never had an issue with carsickness so since Judy is driving her new Jeep, I can even sew in the car (I'm sure she'll love all the little pieces of wool and thread left behind)!!!!

Haven't decided if I'll take the laptop or not.  The camera will be with me at all times and if I pack the laptop, I'll show pictures.  If not, I'll post them when we get home.

Hope everyone is having a wonderful week.

Picture-perfect day......

It is the most beautiful day in the Ozarks.  Sitting on my backporch, sipping coffee and catching up on all the blogs.  We decided to come home a day early from our adventure in Tennessee and so glad we did.....there's no place like home.

We left on Thursday to go to the City Farmhouse pop-up Barn Sale right outside of Franklin.  We had early tickets on Friday morning for breakfast and early shopping.  What a gorgeous place it was.....
That's sisters, Judy & Jean, coming from the barn.

We could hardly keep from buying pumpkins and gourds there but hated to take up our precious space with these when hopefully, we can find them here.  We just don't have those wonderful roadside markets that they had there.  Never understood that but will check with our farmer's mkt.

Luckily, Judy had remembered her shopping cart because I walked right off without mine.  We had to make a few trips to the Suburban.  We were also fortunate to get a front row parking space with our early bird tickets.  Here's my first purchase from When Pigs Fly Again.

I could have cleared her area out.....amazing.  Check out her FB page too.  She loves what she does and it shows.

This was Judy Hill's area and she came here from Round Top with the help of her husband.  This is hard work but when you love what you do, it's not as difficult.  Her bedding is gorgeous.

Lost track of who's areas these were.  It was hard for me to remember to take pictures because I was so into the shopping.

It was a fun, beautiful show and so worth the trip.  I'll try to post later this week about the rest of the trip.  We went to another little town down the road from Franklin called Lieper's Fork where they were having a city-wide sale.  That's where Mike from The Pickers lives and they were set up there.  I'll try to get my pictures ready and maybe get my treasures unpacked.....can't wait!

Have a great Sunday!

Little this....a little that.....

We love our new open house card.  I got to take the picture at sister Linda's little garden shed.  It's perfect for what we want to do in the shop.  Can't wait to get started!

Judy and I were out and about in Springfield late yesterday afternoon and it was perfect for getting the camera out.  The city of Springfield is loaded with old trees and lots of maples.  It's a very pretty town under normal conditions but to see it in the fall is a real pleasure.

All of this beauty should never be taken for granted.....it's definitely a gift from God for which we should be so thankful.  Fall always makes me think of my Mom because she loved fall and always wanted to go for a drive.  Then there's my sister Jean who's slowly losing her sight.  She's lost the sight in one eye and the other is slowly fading.  She's sad because she doesn't see the beauty that she remembers....it's not the same.

This was all on my mind yesterday while taking in my surroundings.  I noticed all the political signs up in yards and wondered why they had to be there to blemish the beauty.  It will be such a relief when this is over and we don't have to be inundated with it continually.

Here are a few more of the pictures from our Saturday trip.  It's such a simple pleasure to drive down an unpaved country road and especially when the leaves are in full color.

This is the dining room in the owner's house.  Across from this is a huge fireplace.  Perfect place to enjoy a big bowl of soup on a cold night.

Jean and I were enjoying the front porch.....

Jean and Judy......

How would you like to have to sweep the porch with this?

Hope you enjoyed the tour today.....sort of jumped around (story of my life).  Judy and I are headed to Leola's to work on the porch so guess I'd better get my overalls on (just kidding).

Have a great day!
