Happy Thanksgiving....

I'll be having Thanksgiving at my house for just my little family. It's so hard to take 3 little kids to a house full of grown-ups so we decided to just stay here where they can play and we can build a gingerbread village. I've already made 2 pumpkin pies and have everything ready for the stuffing. The turkey is thawed and ready for the oven. We'll have cranberry relish, green beans, mashed potatoes and Allison is bringing dirty rice. Sounds like a big lunch!

Hope it's a great Thanksgiving for everyone. I have so many things for which to be grateful. It's been a difficult year but I've been blessed by so many family and friends who have been there for me. I'm so thankful for my wonderful daughter Allison, son-in-law John, & those 3 dear g'children. Sister Judy who never fails to call and check on me. I'm thankful for Brenda and Jane who are always there for me. For Susan and Mike who are so supportive and have truly been a God-send this year. There are so many others who call and ask me to dinner (Cathy, Don, & Linda) and sweet nephew Michael who calls me for no reason but just to check. All the women at Leola's who have been such good friends and have kept me challenged and excited about life. There are so many more but since they don't read my blog they won't know I didn't mention them by name. I'm also thankful for all of you who have been such a support to me and for keeping me company when I was feeling lonely.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you.

Hi Jan,
Happy Thanksgiving!
Thanks for the kind words, and about those, who don't read your blog, You can bet, they know how much they mean to you, because you know how much you mean to them. I will have a Happy Day... I am alive, and well...and today that's good enough for me.
Your Day sounds wonderful, your family is so blessed to have you.

Give your grandkids an extra squeeze today... my kids are down three grandparents already and I know they would absolutely love to be spending their Thanksgiving at Grandma's! My mom would be letting them roll out the pie dough (extra that she would make just for them to play with) and make "horse food" with flour and spices and anything she might drag out... Have a fantastic day making your little village with those nearest and dearest to you!

Sounds like you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day, Jan. Warm wishes across the miles to you, Judy & Brenda. I want to tell you how much I admire your spiritual strength and the close bond you have with all your family and friends. You know you get that from your Mom. I'm so happy that I knew her. You are in my thoughts, always, dear friend.

Fondly,
Barbara

Me again- so glad to hear you were busy today at Leola's. Polly Ann's was crazy the last few days. I'm looking forward to the holiday season at the shop this year... everyone is thinking vintage this year for Christmas, right? Here's to a successful holiday season for all of us independents... I think the 3/50 project is helping... slow and steady wins the race!
Have a happy Sunday!
