Catching up.....

Happy Monday morning and hope all of you had a wonderful Mother's Day.  Mine was perfect!  After working Saturday at Leola's and being exhausted from that and a busy week, I made the decision to skip church and sit on the backporch all morning.  It was a good decision.  Then went to the kids for dinner.  My son-in-law fixed a wonderful dinner for me and for his mom and all the kids.  We ate at the big farm table on their backporch.  The weather and everything was perfect.

Spent this morning in the garden.  Added 3 more tomato plants and some rosemary.  The harsh winter killed my rosemary and severely wounded my lavender plants but they're making a great effort to come back.  The lettuces have been picked about three times now and have been able to have some basil.  Did I tell you how much I love my garden!!!!

These are pictures from a friend's wonderful home in the small town of Fordland.  The house was Clive's grandmothers and after she passed away years ago, he moved into it and has done so much work.  He has amazing taste in antiques and decorating as well as his landscaping talents.  He and his partner have a great store in downtown Springfield but decided they wanted to try doing a weekend antique sale in Fordland once a month.  This was the first one and looks like it was a success so they're planning another one next month.

......and Clive.....

Fordland also has a wonderful french restaurant.  We had lunch there one day and I had the best spinach quiche I've ever eaten.  It was custardy and yummy......and took an almond croissant home that was delicious.

I know it doesn't look like the typical french restaurant but it's run by an actual french chef who also teaches culinary arts classes.

This turned out to be longer then I had anticipated but took so many pictures and didn't know where to stop.

Hope everyone has a wonderful week.  Ours is supposed to cool significantly....the joy of living in the Ozarks!!!!

Who knew such fun could be found in Fordland! I'd love to attend your friend's next sale - how would I find the details?

Also so inspiring! I haven't tried that restaurant in Fordland yet. Must put it at the top of my "to do" list!

Amy - you can find Schofield + Gray on FB. They have the sale. Also, watch our FB page because Judy intends to participate again & she'll give dates on Leola's FB page.

What a beautiful place! I'd definitely like to escape our triple digit heat and go visit all your green lushness.
