The sisterhood of the traveling purse.....

It was another day on the road for my new purse. Judy and I had some furniture delivered to Leola's so I had to be there before opening. Then, of course, if you put one new piece in, you have to completely re-do the whole area. It cracks me up because if I'm ever there early someone ALWAYS comes to the door and has to get in. So I take the time to open the door and let this man in & guess what he was looking for? Hammers!!! Do we friggin' look like we have hammers!!!! I don't think so. Then he wants to stick around and visit for 30 minutes. I know you're suppose to be nice to your customers & you never know who's going to buy but sometimes I just want to put a sign on the door that says "closed means closed". Sorry, I think I'm ranting!

We did finish our work about noon and Dulcy came to the shop to meet for lunch. We all went to Spring Creek for lunch and did a little shopping. It was a nice day.

Kristy is modeling Judy's decorated hat. It takes a real woman to wear a man's hat with a big red Christmas ball on it but Kristy is certainly up for the task.

Took a few pictures of Leola's.

The shop looks so fun and Christmasy right now. If you're in the area, stop and see us but if you're looking for tools or Nascar memorabilia don't ask us to open early.
Have a great weekend!

Friend Jane's & son-in-law John's birthdays.

Saturday was my friend Jane's birthday so after going to the Russell's sale we all met at Spring Creek Tearoom for lunch. Jane and I have known each other since college but have been good friends for probably 20 years. We have been through so much together. I don't know what I'd do with out her. Below is Jane, Judy, Bev, Judy (my sister) & me.

Our plates were so pretty that I had to take a picture of them. They tasted even better then they looked.

Saturday was also my son-in-law John's birthday so we had a party tonight (Sunday) at my house. It was such a beautiful night & we got to eat on the porch. Our good friends, Katie & Mark Struckoff, came for dinner and they seemed to enjoy the craziness. John's Mom , Pam, made a scrumptious cheesecake for a birthday cake & a good time was had by all.

Lunch at Springcreek Antiques & Tearoom

I haven't had time for months to go to Springcreek for lunch or shopping so Judy & our friend Jane & I had lunch there today. The line is usually quite long so we had plenty of time to shop. If you're ever in Ozark MO at lunch time, you have to eat here. We had a wonderful sandwich & salad but there desserts are to die for. We had coconut cream pie & we practically licked the plate. Nobody makes desserts like Brenda at Springcreek.

Here are a few of the things that were in the shop. I loved this little pine chair & handmade doll.
This is Mandy's booth & I've forgotten her blog name but I'll list it later & link to it on my blog. She has the cutest space with wonderful things for a child's room. My friend, Jane, collects sock monkeys & she's found several in this booth. She does want the world to know that she has her limit of sock monkeys now & unless she finds a really special one, she's not adding anymore to her collection. Yeah, sure!!!!
Love this ironstone! The pitchers were grazed & stained. That's my favorite.

Does this not look like a treasure trove! Vintage ornaments are selling like hotcakes right now. Don't you wonder where people keep finding them. Probably at all those garage sales I miss. I had a hard time finding many this year but some of the girls had tons. Guess I need to get up earlier on garage sale days.
Is this not the cutest Mrs. Claus suit!!!! I tell you if I had a body this small, it would have gone home with me. Can't you just see it with a pair of Danskin Leggings? OK, get your minds out of the gutter; I know what you all were thinking. Like that's going to happen -- especially since it's about 10 sizes too small. Oh, well, maybe next year I will have lost 85 lbs -- don't hold your breath!
